GRILL COOK (FULL TIME)

Position Overview We are hiring for a full‑time Grill Cook position at Shriners Children’s Hospital, 815 Market Street, Galveston, TX 77550. Prior grill cook experience is required. Full‑time schedule: Monday through Sunday, 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, with rotating shifts. Pay range: $11.50–$13.50 per hour. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Takes orders from customers and prepares items requiring short preparation, completing orders from steam tables and serving customers at multiple stations. Serves customers in an efficient and friendly manner, following established steps and standards, ensuring food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty; tastes all prepared food items. Uses established ticket‑collection procedures during service, responsible for records from the area worked during service periods. Applies approved recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and portion control. Moves pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from workstations, stove, and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards. Stores foods in designated areas following standard wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures. Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains all assigned work areas, equipment, and utensils to meet sanitation standards. Resolves customer concerns and reports relevant information to supervisor. Attends in‑service and safety meetings. Maintains positive working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers. Performs work safely while maintaining a clean, safe environment. Performs other duties as assigned.
