Founding Engineer (New York)

About the Opportunity

An early stage technology company is building an AI-powered software platform designed to automate complex workflows and improve how healthcare organizations operate at scale.

The team is small, highly technical, and already delivering to real customers. This is an opportunity to join at the ground floor and help shape product direction, engineering standards, and company culture from the beginning.

If you’ve ever wanted to build something from scratch and have meaningful ownership over what ships, this is that kind of role.

What You’ll Work On

You’ll join a founding engineering team building the first generation of core products.

The focus is on developing intelligent AI agents and automation systems that handle real world interactions, streamline operational processes, and surface actionable insights.

You’ll work across the stack, from core agent logic and data pipelines to backend integrations and user facing experiences. The team ships quickly, values clean architecture, and cares deeply about execution quality.

How the Team Operates

This is an AI-first organization. AI is not just a feature, it’s embedded across product, operations, and internal workflows.

The team stays intentionally lean. Engineers are hands-on with code, systems, and product decisions. There is minimal bureaucracy and a strong emphasis on ownership and iteration.

Technical Environment

Modern frontend and backend technologies including:

• React and TypeScript based applications
• Python services
• Cloud infrastructure
• AI and LLM frameworks
• Agent orchestration and workflow automation tools

Strong testing practices and disciplined engineering fundamentals are a priority.

Who We’re Looking For

Builders who are excited about applied AI and enjoy experimenting with new tools to solve real problems.

You do not need a deep academic AI background. Curiosity, adaptability, and the ability to move from idea to production matter most.

You Might Be a Great Fit If You

• Enjoy exploring modern AI frameworks and automation workflows
• Think about how AI can meaningfully improve user experiences or operational efficiency
• Learn quickly and build confidently in ambiguous environments
• Thrive in fast moving, hands-on teams
• Care about culture and building something meaningful with a tight group

Why This Role

• Early impact on product and engineering direction
• High ownership from concept to deployment
• Close collaboration with a small, senior team
• Competitive compensation and meaningful equity
• Opportunity to help scale a fast growing AI platform
