Your chance to make a difference! Location: The ICE facility at Eloy, AZ, also known as the Eloy Detention Center, is operated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). It serves as a detention facility for individuals awaiting immigration hearings or deportation. The center provides services such as legal visitation, medical care, and educational resources for detainees. Located in a remote area, it is a high-security facility that also offers access to family visitation. Additionally, it emphasizes detainee safety and well-being, while following federal regulations and ICE standards.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• The psychiatric app functions within the scope of his or her specialty under the clinical oversight of the chief of psychiatry, the clinical director (or designee), a designated consulting psychiatrist, and in accordance with a completed IHSC scope of practice agreement.
• Shall operate under well-accepted practices and principles of psychiatric and medical care providers and follow IHSC scope of practice and as outlined in IHSC policy.
• Shall work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Will coordinate mental health patient care, off-site referrals, and collaborative duties through scheduled appointments, sick calls, or walk-ins.
• Shall diagnose and treat acute and chronic psychiatric disorders. This includes providing counseling, support, and prescribing various medications in accordance with the approved IHSC scope of practice.
• Shall order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to the detainee's psychiatric needs.
• Shall utilize evidence-based tools and identification of risks associated with medication-induced movement disorders.
• Will provide telepsychiatry services for patients at other IHSC facilities as needed and as the local facility allows, only in the states the provider is licensed.
• Adheres to IHSC's safety, prevention, infection and control, quality improvement, patient education, and other programs and collateral duties as appropriate to the position.

Requirements:

• Education and experience: must be a graduate of an accredited psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner or physician assistant program located in the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory.
• Must have a minimum of one year of clinical provider experience in direct patient care.
• Certification:
  • PMHNP board certification requirements: must maintain current board certification as APMHMP by the American Nurse Credentialing Center.
  • Physician assistant Certification requirements: shall maintain current certification of National Commission on certification of physician Assistants.
• Must maintain an unrestricted license with the Drug Enforcement Agency and in the state in which the duty station is located.
• Shall maintain BLS certification for health care providers through the American Heart Association.
