Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make an impact supporting students’ communication growth across a dynamic school district in the Independence, MO area! This full-time, contract position focuses on delivering high-quality speech-language pathology services to students at both high school and middle school levels.

Enjoy a collaborative role, working alongside a passionate educational team while serving multiple sites. The position is primarily based at the high school—assisting students in specialized ESC and BEST classrooms—three days each week, and providing overflow support at the middle school and, potentially, one additional building the other two days.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Current SLP license (CFY not accepted; CCC required)
• Prior experience in a school setting strongly preferred
• Familiarity with IEP development, goal setting, and data collection
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable with a varied caseload and traveling between school buildings

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct speech-language therapy to students, utilizing evidence-based techniques
• Conduct assessments and collaborate on evaluations for student eligibility
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in coordination with the IEP team
• Maintain accurate documentation of services and student progress
• Consult and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student needs
• Support overflow caseloads and participate as a flexible, valuable resource across multiple schools

Work onsite, Monday through Friday, from 9:00am to 4:40pm, following the academic calendar from late August through May.
