Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world.In the role of Structural Engineer, we'll count on you to:Review structural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplinesWrite and edit structural specifications, select procedures, materials and their respective sizes, and complete necessary calculationsIndependently coordinate the work of the structural design team through the design development and contract document phases of a projectEstablish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code complianceConduct design development and contract document work sessions at project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplinesTake responsibility for coordinating workload through design development and construction document phases to complete the documents on scheduleCoordinate and assist with affected disciplines, with any addendum, requests for information, change proposal requests and change orders, and incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documentsProvide structural design of diverse range of project types including data centers, aerospace, manufacturing, transit facilities, operations and maintenance facilities, commercial, health care, education, life science and civic projectsConduct structural analysis and calculations to meet design standards, safety and client goalsProduce detailed engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and construction documentsRespond to design questions and resolve technical issuesTake ownership of your portion of structural design: reliably meet deadlines, budget, and quality standardsPerform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or BS degree in Architectural Engineering; Structural emphasisA minimum of 3 years structural engineer experienceKnowledge of national design codes and material standards, including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, ACI 350, AISC 360, AISC 341, etc.Strong communication and organizational skillsAbility to manage workload for multiple projects and tasksQualificationsRequired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license. Previous structural engineer experience Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similarPrevious experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We BelieveHDR is our company.
