Director, Medical Affairs

Key Responsibilities Strategic Medical Leadership & Clinical Expertise Act as a scientific expert medical liaison across US Medical Affairs, Global Medical Affairs, and US/Global Commercial to develop educational resources. Serve as the medical/scientific expert in developing HIV prevention educational tools, including PrEP implementation. Advise on pedagogical frameworks for new education initiatives; match delivery systems and right‑size content to provider type. Provide educational training to medical and cross‑functional stakeholders. Collaborate with the Medical Review Committee to ensure scientific accuracy and compliance for educational materials. Cross‑Functional Communication & Collaboration Communicate medical education initiatives, strategies, timelines, and plans to commercial stakeholders. Collaborate with Legal, Regulatory, Clinical, Public/Government Affairs, and other functions to lead or support cross‑functional projects. Commercial Strategy & Advisory Support Provide medical educational support for US commercial activities (e.g., field education, scientific advisory boards—planning, content review, presentation). Support Promotional Review Committee (PRC) concept discussions and material reviews. Training & Educational Support Review and contribute to training materials for field teams. Present at field training sessions (including midyear and national meetings). Support development/delivery of training workshops and strategic/tactical planning sessions. Launch Planning Support the US Prevention Strategy Lead in future launch educational activities. Qualifications MD, PhD, PharmD, NP, PA, or other advanced healthcare degree; minimum 8 years relevant experience. 5 years clinical services experience in HIV treatment and/or prevention (required). 3 years pharmaceutical industry experience (required). Demonstrated team leadership; ability to build relationships with scientific stakeholders. Ability to translate strategy into action; strong analytical skills; communicate complex issues clearly. Strong project management/organizational skills; can prioritize multiple ongoing projects. Excellent teamwork and cross‑functional matrix experience; autonomy. Adhere to regulatory/legal (Business Conduct) requirements for Medical Affairs activities. People Leader Accountabilities Create inclusion; develop talent; empower teams. Salary/Benefits (if eligible) Bay Area: $243,100.00–$314,600.00; Other US locations: $221,000.00–$286,000.00. May be eligible for discretionary annual bonus, long-term incentives, paid time off, and company-sponsored medical/dental/vision/life insurance.
