EMT or Paramedic (PRN)

Medcor is looking to hire an EMT or Paramedic on a PRN basis (as‑needed) to serve as an Onsite Health Technician in our employer‑based, occupational health clinic in Tyler, TX. The clinic operates: Saturday, Sunday, Monday: 10:00 A.M. – 10:00 P.M.; Tuesday: 08:00 A.M. – 06:00 P.M. or 06:00 P.M. – 10:00 P.M. Since this is on an as‑needed basis there are no guaranteed hours. Responsibilities The position’s responsibilities include collaborative work with the medical and operational leadership at Medcor, local medical providers, client staff, and key contacts within the client’s corporate structure. The day‑to‑day role of the Onsite Health Technician includes patient care, ongoing workers’ compensation case management, Return to Work (RTW) program facilitation, treatment plan monitoring, and working closely with outside medical providers. Typical Day Participate in daily operations at Medcor’s on‑site clinic Provide superior customer service to Medcor’s client and employees Assess and treat workplace injuries and illnesses according to Medcor’s Evidence Based Medicine protocols, known as the Medcor Care Protocols (MCPs) Build and maintain internal team relationships Support onsite employee health and wellness efforts Perform pre‑employment and post‑offer screenings Document care using state‑of‑the‑art EMR and other tools Manage cases and perform medical charting Qualifications Love what you do Hold valid licensure for the position in which you are applying Maintain current CPR/BLS certification Possess strong computer and technology skills (including navigation of cell phones, texting, fax machines, and EMR software) Be physically able to lift a 50‑lb emergency response bag Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills Maintain a positive and outgoing personality Demonstrate a willingness to go above and beyond Show passion for people and a commitment to delivering the best possible care Be open to having fun in the workplace Preferred Qualifications Comfortable working in a worksite clinic environment Relevant occupational health experience Experience in emergency medicine or critical care Careers at Medcor Medcor embraces a set of simple, interconnected practices that everyone can tailor to their own life and work.
