What we do This role is designed to provide in‑office, hands‑on, executional employment legal support. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving matters forward—bringing structure and consistency to employment‑related workflows and enabling the team’s ability to focus on strategic priorities. What you’ll do Provide employment law advice and counseling to our People team and other stakeholders in North America on a broad range of issues, including recruiting, employee relations, performance management, leaves of absence, disability accommodations, wage and hour, terminations, internal investigations, compensation, workplace harassment, benefits, privacy, immigration, and employee classification. Draft, revise, and advise on employment‑related documents, including offer letters, separation agreements, commission and bonus plans, as well as summaries, draft communications, templates, and other supporting materials for review. Manage employment‑related projects, including process reviews and the creation, implementation, and continual improvement of policies and procedures, including helping to build foundational processes amidst evolving systems and workflows. Create, update, and provide training programs on various employment law topics, optimized ways of working, and cross‑functional up‑skilling. Provide foundational support regarding employment‑related litigation, claims, charges, investigations, audits, and subpoenas. Support the use of data and matter tracking to identify trends, generate insights, and inform data‑driven decision making with respect to employment matters. Monitor employment law‑related legislation, regulations, legal developments, and government oversight activities that may affect the Company in North America. Independently drive day‑to‑day execution of employment matters, including following up on open items, coordinating next steps, and ensuring timely progress in a fast‑paced environment. Who you are 6+ years of employment law experience working for an internationally / nationally recognized firm, or in combination with in‑house experience. Law degree from an accredited law school. Admitted to practice in New York or the ability to register as In‑House Counsel in New York. International employment law experience a plus. Able to work effectively and collaboratively, with a high level of personal interaction in the office, across functions with a practical, solution‑oriented mindset. Able to work in a proactive, independent, and reliable manner under tight timeframes in a fast‑paced environment. Exhibit excellent judgment, superior leadership, and strong problem‑solving skills, and can proactively spot risk and deliver practical solutions. Highly collaborative with the ability to build relationships across various teams and functions. Effective communicator who can explain complex legal concepts to non‑lawyers and provide practical legal advice. Comfortable operating in ambiguity and delving into detail, including hands‑on drafting, organization, and follow‑through and able to push work forward amidst uncertainty. Benefits The role offers a competitive total compensation package, including base salary ranging from $124,900 to $228,900 USD and variable compensation. Employees are eligible for stock‑based compensation grants, and benefits include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision), retirement plan with company match, disability coverage, basic life insurance, well‑being benefits, tuition reimbursement, parental leave, sick time, vacation, paid holidays and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
