The listed pay range reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time). Pay Range: $16.44 - $16.44 Scheduled Weekly Hours: 20 POSITION OVERVIEW Ensures safety functions are in compliance with department, facility, and regulatory agency safety policies and procedures. Recognizes and appropriately responds to situations or issues that require communication or interaction with other departments or patients. Assures that all housekeeping assignments are completed and quality assurance measures are in place. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: High school diploma or equivalency. English speaking skills. Experience: One year experience in environmental services. Other Credentials: Knowledge and Skills: Good communication skills and record keeping ability. Special Training: Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities: Usual Work Day: 8 Hours REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS Does this position formally supervise employees? No If set to YES, then this position has the authority (delegated) to hire, terminate, discipline, promote or effectively recommend such to manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Handles chemicals and solutions per departmental and material safety data sheets. Ensures all chemicals are properly labeled at all times. Adheres to safety regulations as outlined in departmental policies, facility, and JCAHO guidelines. Reports equipment in need of repair and any unsafe conditions to supervisor or appropriate party. Identifies and resolves interpersonal conflicts constructively when dealing with members of the organization. Displays patience and tact when dealing with other hospital personnel. Presents department in a positive manner to visitors, patients, and other hospital personnel. Utilizes appropriate department chain of command in resolving complaints, grievances, or problems accurately. Utilizes departmental scripting for identifying self upon entry of patient room and asking if there is any additional customer service needing to be performed. Maintains equipment and supplies needed to perform duties in a neat and orderly fashion. Posts proper warning signs when performing floor care. Performs proper floor care according to department orientation and training. Analyzes and inspects floors and carpeted areas appropriately and determines proper cleaning techniques per department guidelines. Assures that the housekeeping equipment is cleaned and returned to its proper location in a timely manner. Has access to medication storage areas for cleaning and maintenance purposes. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Frequent physical demands include: Sitting, Push/Pull, Twisting, Bending, Reaching forward, Reaching overhead, Squat/kneel/crawl, Wrist position deviation, Keyboard use/repetitive motion. Continuous physical demands include: Standing, Walking. Lifting Floor to Waist 50 lbs. Lifting Waist Level and Above 50 lbs. Sensory Requirements include: Accurate Near Vision, Accurate Far Vision, Color Discrimination, Minimal Depth Perception, Minimal Hearing. Anticipated Occupational Exposure Risks Include the following: Bloodborne Pathogens, Chemical, Airborne Communicable Disease, Extreme Temperatures, Uneven Surfaces or Elevations, Dust/Particulate Matter.
