About the Role As part of the Data and Insights Group (DIG), you will join a large community of accomplished data analysts who partner with Product, Engineering, Design, and PMO teams across the business. You will help inform the data and insights strategy for the Subscriber Revenue team as an individual contributor and support innovation in new revenue‑generating models, including initiatives such as the family plan. You will have a direct, quantifiable impact on our subscriber business, reporting to the Executive Director, Growth Analytics. Responsibilities Define strategy within the team’s problem space and oversee definition and execution of solutions. Present data‑oriented analyses to high‑level partners to guide team strategy. Develop best practices for experiment design, including advising on hypothesis generation, sample size, and counter metrics. Deliver test analysis, advise on future tests and next steps. Collaborate with product, data science, and tech to build new targeting and insight tools. Lead all phases of analytic work: from problem definition to representation of results. Produce insights, advocate for them and drive them into action. Demonstrate support for journalistic independence and commitment to the mission of seeking truth. Basic Qualifications 5+ years of experience working with data analytics or data science teams, or a quantitative degree. Mastery of SQL and experience with relational databases. At least 1 year of experience with data visualization tools such as Mode, Tableau, or Looker. At least 1 year of experience applying statistics to strategic problems. Proficient in Python or R. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with Google BigQuery, AWS, or other big‑data environments. At least 1 year of experience with dbt. Comfort with version control (GitHub, code review). At least 1 year of experience in data modeling. Experience with Hex. Familiarity with Gen AI‐enabled tools for analytics and workflow acceleration (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Hex). Benefits Annual base pay range: $124,000 – $135,000 USD. Eligible for variable pay such as an annual bonus and restricted stock (U.S. roles).
