Our privately owned small animal veterinary hospital in Coram, NY is hiring a Veterinary Assistant to support our medical team.
This role is ideal for individuals interested in developing hands-on clinical skills and pursuing a long-term career in veterinary medicine. We are a collaborative, high-quality general practice managing a wide variety of medical and surgical cases while maintaining a supportive team culture.
Located on Long Island with convenient access to nearby metropolitan areas including New York City, our hospital provides strong mentorship and real learning opportunities.
What You’ll Do
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatments
- Safely handle and restrain patients
- Prepare exam rooms and support patient flow
- Assist with laboratory sample collection and diagnostics (as trained)
- Support surgical and treatment areas
- Monitor hospitalized patients
- Maintain accurate medical records support tasks
- Maintain cleanliness and medical sanitation standards
Schedule Requirements
- Flexible scheduling options
- Rotating weekends and some holidays required
- Full-time or part-time options available
