Regional Supplemental Services is seeking a highly skilled and adaptable NC Programmer (Travel) to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, programming, and optimizing numerical control (NC) machine operations across multiple locations. Your expertise will ensure precise machining of complex components using advanced CNC equipment, including 5-axis CNC machines and CNC lathes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to travel between facilities, collaborate with engineering teams, and contribute to high-quality metal machining processes. Your technical proficiency in CAD/CAM software, blueprint reading, and mechanical measurement will be essential to drive manufacturing excellence and innovation.

Duties

• Develop and write CNC programs for various machining centers, including CNC milling machines, lathes, and 5-axis CNC machines, utilizing CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or other engineering CAD design tools.
• Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate machining processes.
• Setup and operate CNC tooling and machining tools, ensuring optimal performance for precision metal machining tasks.
• Conduct precision measurement using bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to verify part quality against specifications.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to implement lean manufacturing principles for process improvement and waste reduction.
• Troubleshoot CNC programming issues related to geometry, tooling, or machine operation; adjust programs as needed for efficiency and accuracy.
• Travel between multiple manufacturing sites to support machine setup, programming updates, training sessions, and process audits.

Qualifications

• Proven experience programming and operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and 5-axis CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and CAM programming tools for toolpath generation.
• Excellent blueprint reading skills with a solid understanding of mechanical blueprint interpretation and GD&T standards.
• Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM), measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers), bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measurement tools.
• Mechanical knowledge combined with an understanding of machining tool setup, geometry calculations, schematics interpretation, and tooling selection.
• Experience applying lean manufacturing principles to optimize machining processes for efficiency and quality.
• Ability to program using CAM software for complex metal machining operations; familiarity with engineering CAD design is a plus.
• Strong math skills essential for precise measurement calculations and program adjustments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot programming issues quickly while maintaining safety standards.
