Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO)
VEA Health is seeking a full-time Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO) to join a growing inpatient program at Val Verde Regional Medical Center in Del Rio, Texas. This is a supportive hospitalist opportunity with APP collaboration, open ICU care, and strong specialty representation.
Qualifications
Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine with hospitalist experience
ACLS certification required
BLS certification required

19-bed Emergency Department (new facility opened in March 2022)
Level IV Trauma Center
Patient Volume
Annual hospitalist encounters: 5,110
Average daily hospitalist visits: 14
Average admissions per day: 4
Admission rate from the Emergency Department: 5%
High transfer-out rate
Schedule & Coverage
Physician Schedule:
24-hour coverage model
Onsite report at 7:00 AM
Telephonic availability after rounding
APP Coverage:
Day Shift: 1:00 PM 9:00 PM, Monday through Friday
Flex shift provides additional daytime surge support, including weekends
Clinical Environment
Open ICU
Teleneurology available 24/7 for Emergency Department stroke support
No procedures required
Strong specialty support including:
General Surgery
Orthopedics
Radiology
Wound Care
Cardiology
Systems
