Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Saint Louis, Missouri.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: CVICU\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: ASAP\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 48 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 4x12hrs\n Hours: 48 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Aug 31, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 5\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Medical ICU night shift role requiring 3+ years of cardiac/medical ICU experience and CVI open heart recovery experience.Details\n \n Work in a 22-bed Cardiac Medical Intensive Care Unit\n Patient ratio of 1:2\n Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM\n Every other weekend required\n No call requirements\n May float to other stepdown units depending on staffing needs\n Uses Impella, IABP, Prismax CRRT, Zoll internal cooling device, and Arctic Sun equipment\n Utilizes EPIC EMR\n Requirements\n \n Active RN license eligible for Missouri licensure or current MO/compact license\n BLS and ACLS certification from AHA required\n NIHSS certification required\n TNCC certification preferred\n Minimum 3 years of Cardiac and/or Medical ICU experience required, inpatient only\n Experience recovering open heart patients directly from the OR (CVI experience) required\n Experience with medical ICU patients with cardiac emphasis (arrhythmias, STEMI, post arrest) preferred\n Ability to stand and walk for most of shift, bend, stoop, lift, and turn patients with assistance\n Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs, pinch up to 15 lbs, and kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally\n High risk exposure to blood and body fluids\n Additional Information\n \n Provides direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation\n Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient comfort and outcomes\n Cares for patients with conditions such as sepsis, respiratory failure (pneumonia, COVID, ARDS), post cardiac arrest, GI bleed, DKA, PE, renal failure, liver failure, pancreatitis, overdose, suicidal ideations, and CIWA\n Night shift staff orient on day shift and must be available the entire week for orientation\n Flu vaccination or facility-approved exemption required November 1 through April 1, with no declinations accepted\n Black scrubs required; hats, non-facility jackets/sweatshirts, and air pods are not permitted\n RTO of 5 days or less allowed, must be made up during the assignment\n Only one holiday RTO request permitted per assignment\n Local candidates accepted\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-746199.
