You'll be matched to one of four teams during the interview process, based on business needs and your background:Agents –AI assistants and in-app guidance that help people finish tasks inside the software they use, including a new desktop AI work hubDocs – Our core product for automated document generation and viewing, relied on by millions of usersGrowth – Signup, onboarding, checkout, billing, seats and SSO, helping people find Scribe, see its value fast, and grow their planOptimize –The AI-driven intelligence layer that helps enterprises understand, measure and improve how work gets done, turning raw activity into workflow data leaders can trustWhat you'll doWhat you'll do:Build and ship backend features in our Django monolith, both established workflows and new greenfield projectsImprove performance and reliability: optimize services, database queries, endpoints, and caching layers across critical workflowsCollaborate with PMs, designers, and frontend engineers to deliver reliable experiences at scaleContribute to technical discussions, balancing short-term delivery with longer-term architectureUphold strong engineering practices: code review, test coverage, observabilityWhat we're looking for:5+ years building backend applications at high scale and availabilityExtensive Python experienceTrack record optimizing endpoint performance and database queriesStrong advocate for automated testingTrack record implementing engineering best practicesUser-centric, empathetic, passionate about the workNice to haves:Django experienceStartup experienceBackend Stack: Go + Python + Django, PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery + AmazonMQ, Terraform (AWS)Why you'll love working hereThe reach of a unicorn, the headcount of a startup.
