Lab Technician

Our client, an innovative organization in the agricultural science industry, is seeking a Lab Technician to join their team. As a Lab Technician, you will be part of the Protein and Analytical Core Technologies supporting the Protein Analysis Immunochemistry team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a collaborative spirit, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Lab Technician

Location: Johnston, IA

Shift: 8am-5pm (Start time may vary between 7:30am-8:30am after training)

What's the Job?

• Perform high-throughput plant tissue protein extractions and immunochemistry assays following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot automated laboratory equipment safely and efficiently.
• Support routine laboratory operations, including reagent preparation, inventory management, and equipment upkeep.
• Assist in executing quality-controlled protein expression experiments and assay maintenance.
• Record data accurately, analyze results, and document conclusions using electronic notebooks and laboratory software.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor's degree in molecular biology or a related field, with 1-3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and committed to personal and technical growth.
• Excellent written, oral, and organizational skills.
