Your Opportunity Your role will include as‑needed support for senior review and oversight of cultural resources field work for various programs, including for large utility clients: archaeological survey, testing, evaluation, construction monitoring, report and section writing, site record forms, and other tasks as assigned. You must demonstrate awareness for workplace safety and be willing to work independently when conditions are appropriate or with limited supervision. You will work closely with Stantec's project managers, laboratory resources, and environmental staff. This position will be based in our Walnut Creek office. Your Key Responsibilities Manage tasks and projects according to approved scopes of work, and deliver quality reports on schedule and within budget Interact and interface professionally with Tribes, clients, and other staff Completing QA/QC on deliverables, including field notes or documentation Construction contract administration and site inspection services Participate in Health, Safety and Environment (HSSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work Assignments/projects are advanced in nature and require the application of mature knowledge Responsible for planning and conducting assignments/projects having broad scope for independent accomplishment and coordination of difficult tasks Provide supervision, training, technical direction and mentoring to more junior staff Review work of junior staff Apply technical and business knowledge and methods to develop creative, effective, and economical solutions to address current and potential project issues Conduct peer reviews of routine and moderately complex work by colleagues or more junior practitioners Travel – up to 100% local and regional travel required Your Capabilities and Credentials Proficient in and consistently demonstrates and promotes policies and procedures for HSSE, including client‑specific training (if applicable) Strong skills in archaeological excavations and analysis Skilled in communications and technical information exchange with clients, engineers, science, government regulators and agencies, academia, and the public Disciplined approach to project execution and technical excellence Ability to provide written and verbal direction on project delivery Shows leadership in striving to continuously improve technical performance Ability to convey safety information to field staff Drives collaborative efforts within the region and beyond to deliver consistent, high quality and appropriately scoped technical work At least ten years of experience successfully executing technical aspects of medium to complex projects Good driving record and valid driver’s license required Education and Experience Master’s degree and minimum 6 years’ related experience, or an equivalent combination of education (e.g., advanced degree) and experience preferred. Pay Range Locations in NYC & CA (Bay Area) & NJ (RP) – $79,300.00 – $114,900.00 annually. Pay Transparency In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. The final agreed compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Compensation for part‑time roles is pro‑rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
