Board Certified Behavioral Analyst PURPOSE The BCBA will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and support staff to develop and implement behavior intervention strategies for students. This role requires expertise in behavior analysis, data collection, assessment, consultation with teams, and the ability to create individualized behavior plans. The BCBA will play a vital role in fostering a positive learning environment and promoting the academic, social, and emotional development of students. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' behavioral strengths and challenges, utilizing a variety of assessment tools and techniques. Develop and implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on assessment results and in collaboration with the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) team. Provide ongoing support, training, and coaching to teachers, paraprofessionals, and other staff members on implementing behavior interventions and strategies. Collaborate with teachers and support staff to design and implement data collection systems to monitor student progress and evaluate the effectiveness of behavior interventions. Analyze data collected to make data-driven decisions and adjustments to behavior plans as needed. Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviors and develop behavior support plans accordingly. Train and support school staff in the implementation of positive behavior support strategies, behavior management techniques, and crisis intervention procedures. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation including, but not limited to, student attendance records, progress records, and records of classroom materials, supplies and textbooks. Supervise assigned paraprofessionals or other behavior support staff. Perform other duties as assigned. COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with others and contributes to the development of a positive school and district climate; Accepts a share of responsibility for co-curricular activities and department tasks as assigned; Abide by the Code of Ethics for the Teaching Profession as established by the Idaho State Board of Education, the Board Policies and procedures of the District and the terms and provisions of the Standard Teachers' Contract; Compliance with the requirements of Idaho Code with regard to teacher conduct, including but not limited to the manner in which suspected instances of child abuse or suspected student suicidal tendencies are addressed; Adhere to confidentiality with regard to student information; Attend faculty meetings and conferences as directed by the department director and participation in in-services activities and other professional growth opportunities; Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Know and follow school evacuation procedures and lock-down procedures in order to implement those procedures independently in emergency situations; Establish and maintain good working habits including punctuality; Implement the beliefs, mission statement, objectives and parameters of the District's strategic plan. QUALIFICATIONS Must have proper certification, as required by the State of Idaho, for position to which the teacher is assigned; Currently hold a valid Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification. Currently hold or able to obtain a current Idaho Instructional or Pupil Service Staff educator certification. Master's degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, or a related field. Experience working as a BCBA in a school setting is strongly preferred. In-depth knowledge of behavior analysis principles, methodologies, and evidence-based interventions. Proficient in conducting functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and developing behavior intervention plans (BIPs). Ability to collect and analyze data, make data-driven decisions, and evaluate the effectiveness of behavior interventions. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other school personnel. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks. Understanding of special education laws, regulations, and the IEP process. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with the latest research and best practices in the field. The ability to read and understand work related materials; Must be able to accomplish simple mathematical concepts including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division; The ability to observe, monitor, and analyze student behavior throughout the instructional day.
