Summary

\n

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, developing, and implementing complex projects, with a focus on cloud-based data warehousing and reporting solutions and driving efficiency within the organization. The role plays a pivotal role in defining data cloud architecture that requires close collaboration with application developers, data engineers, data analysts, data scientists, and BI developers to ensure seamless data integration and automation across various platforms. The Google Cloud Data Integration Architect is responsible for evaluating and selecting the most effective cloud technologies, data governance and compliance, and data integration process alignment with security best practices and industry regulations. The role demands passion for cutting-edge cloud solutions, performance optimization, and a proactive approach to troubleshooting complex data challenges in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. This role will enable organization to build scalable, cost-efficient systems that support advanced analytics, business intelligence, and machine learning use cases.

Essential Functions

• Participate in the development life cycle (requirements definition, project approval, design, development, and implementation) and maintenance of the systems.
\n
• Define architecture standards and best practices for data warehousing and cloud infrastructure.
\n
• Develop and manage backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and failover mechanisms to ensure business continuity.
\n
• Provide input for project plans and timelines to align with business objectives.
\n
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
\n
• Work with cross-functional teams and ensure effective communication and collaboration.
\n
• Provide regular updates to the management team.
\n
• Follow the standards and procedures according to Architecture Review Board best practices, revising standards and procedures as requirements change and technological advancements are incorporated into the > tech_ structure.

• Communicates and promotes the code of ethics and business conduct.
\n
• Ensures completion of required company compliance training programs.
\n
• Is trained – either through formal education or through experience – in software / hardware technologies and development methodologies.

• Stays current through personal development and professional and industry organizations.

• Design scalable, secure, and efficient data platform solutions on Google Cloud platform.
\n
• Implement robust security measures to ensure data privacy and comply with regulatory standards.
\n
• Leverage cloud-native automation tools to streamline data management and reduce manual processes.
\n
• Design, build, and maintain automated data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes, ensuring scalability and reliability in data operations.
\n
• Design and implement data integration solutions to automate data flow between systems and databases.
\n
• Designs and develops cloud automation solutions using various technologies, such as scripting languages, databases, APIs, and cloud services.
\n
• Monitors and troubleshoots the cloud data integration solutions, resolving any issues or errors.
\n
• Provides training and support to the end users of the cloud solutions.
\n
• Maintain detailed architecture documentation and best practices for the organization’s data cloud infrastructure.
\n
• Stay up to date with cloud technologies and data architecture trends to recommend and implement new tools and solutions.

Qualifications

\n

\n
• 10+ years of experience in data integration design, cloud computing, and data architecture.
\n
• A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
\n
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architecture on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
\n
• Define cloud architecture standards, reference architectures, design patterns, and technology roadmaps.
\n
• Architect data platforms leveraging BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Kafka, Dataflow, and Dataproc.
\n
• Design data lake and Lakehouse architecture using Apache Iceberg, Parquet, and open table formats.
\n
• Develop solutions for batch processing, real-time streaming, CDC, ETL/ELT, and enterprise data integration.
\n
• Design and implement cloud-native integration solutions using APIs, webhooks, event-driven architectures, and iPaaS platforms such as Boomi.
\n
• Define IAM, least-privilege access, encryption, network security, and data governance standards.
\n
• Establish infrastructure automation using Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
\n
• Optimize cloud performance, scalability, reliability, and operational costs.
\n
• Design high-availability, disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity solutions.
\n
• Collaborate with application development, data engineering, DBA, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver cloud solutions.
\n
• Lead architecture reviews, technical evaluations, proof-of-concepts (POCs), and technology selection.
\n
• Establish cloud monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational support standards.
\n
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, SOAP, JSON, XML, and web services.
\n
• Strong understanding of integration patterns, event-driven architecture, API management, and API security.
\n
• Experience with data modeling tools.
\n
• Understanding of DevOps practices and cloud infrastructure automation.
\n
• Familiarity with BI visualization tools such as Tableau, Microstrategy, or similar.
\n
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., JIRA, Smartsheet, etc.)
\n
• Strong knowledge and skills in data management, data quality, and data governance.
\n
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
