Test Engineer 1

Meet the team: The Test Engineer I will support the testing of manufacturing test systems to ensure Dexcom products meet all product and user needs to support manufacturing. Responsibilities Work cross functionally with R&D, Operations, Quality, and Regulatory to ensure timely completion of projects and thorough testing of manufacturing systems. The primary purpose of the role is to plan, coordinate, perform, and report on all system testing for manufacturing test equipment. Design, develop, and implement cost‑effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment for all phases of product development and manufacturing. Prepare test and diagnostic programs, design test fixtures and equipment, and complete specifications and procedures for new products. Plan the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. Work closely with Project Managers, Product Owners, Business Leads, and Development/Support teams to ensure sufficient testing is completed to prove that requirements have met. Work with key stakeholders to define test strategy and approach for individual projects as appropriate. Develop and own documented Test Plans ensuring they provide proper test rigor based on risk. Support the business in defining test cases/scenarios. Write and support the business in developing/revising test scripts. Execute test scripts. Work with the Project Manager / Product Owner to schedule testing, ensuring testers are appropriately trained and have system access as required. Oversee defect management ensuring defects are routed to the appropriate technical team. Issue reports on test progress and attend meetings as required by the Project Manager. Write Test Reports and route change through Dexcom change control processes. Participate in risk assessment of manufacturing equipment to ensure risk is understood. Take risk information to determine rigor of testing to ensure high‑risk items receive the attention they require to ensure customer safety. Release systems through Dexcom’s equipment management system. Support information and data gathering for system troubleshooting. Qualifications 0-2 years of work experience (Medical Device / Med Tech, preferred). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Self‑starter with desire to learn and understand the why and how of systems. Experience & Education Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 0-2 years related experience.
