Game Day Assistant/ Athletics

Title: Game Day Assistant/ Athletics Department: Athletics Campus Location: Arnold/Main Campus Work Mode: This position requires a full-time in-person presence on campus or at alternative locations. Work Schedule: Evenings/Nights/Weekends Position Type: Hourly and Temporary, Non-Exempt Position Summary Anne Arundel Community College’s athletic department is seeking temporary employees to fulfill a variety of responsibilities related to game day functions of our eleven sports programs. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for any position. In the best interest of the College, only individuals who are residents of Maryland or one of the following states will be eligible for employment at the college: Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia. The college will annually review this restriction and, if appropriate, expand the list of states of employment eligibility. Job Duties and Responsibilities Live Stream Filmer – Film game action for AACC Athletics Live streams on YouTube and assist with production through Open Broadcast Software Statistician – Compile live, in-game statistics for various sports, including soccer, basketball, baseball, softball, and lacrosse. Enter statistics, and/or be a spotter for live entry personnel. Clock/Scoreboard Operator – Manage the operations of the game clock, shot clock, and/or scoreboard for various sports, including soccer, basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, and lacrosse. Public Address Announcing – Announce lineups and game action for fans. Line Judging – Assist volleyball officials as out of bounds line judges in volleyball matches. Ball Runner – Assist with pace of play in soccer and volleyball by returning out of bounds game balls back into the game. Grounds Crew – Prepare fields and courts for games by setting up equipment and electronics. Breakdown fields following completion of contests and return equipment and electronics to proper storage spaces. Employees are not required to perform all functions and will be contacted for availability on a weekly basis. Other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Athletics. Required Qualifications Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends to accommodate the needs of the department. Must act and dress professionally while on the campus of AACC and interacting with the college community. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and familiarity with intercollegiate sports teams, and terminology.
