Sr. Business Analyst – Advertiser Operations, Capital One Shopping (Remote-Eligible) This role offers the opportunity to join Capital One’s fast‑growing consumer application, Capital One Shopping. The Shopping team is developing a new consumer product that strives to transform online purchasing. Overview As a Senior Business Analyst, you will apply strategic and analytical skills to major company challenges. You will partner with world‑class professionals to develop and test strategies that affect the bottom line in a collaborative environment that values insight, encourages you to take on new responsibility, supports continuous learning, and rewards innovation. General Responsibilities Analysis: Identify business challenges and opportunities for improvement and solve them using analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendations. Product: Perform modeling and analytics to assist new product and pricing strategies for various lending products. Marketing: Support direct‑to‑consumer marketing efforts for select products, and strategy for products distributed through the retail channel. Build targeted insights to inform the design of new customer experiences and breakthrough technology and concepts for go‑to‑market strategies. Credit Risk: Improve credit performance by connecting drivers of future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, creating risk models, and testing hypotheses with rigorous monitoring and analysis. Execution: Involve problem‑frameworks, develop hypotheses, test and analyze, develop solutions, scope operational feasibility, lead implementation efforts, and develop a monitoring plan. Partnership: Work closely with colleagues across Capital One—including IT, Sales, Operations, Finance, and others—to drive improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitability. Strategic & Analytic Orientation A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation, given that a large part of the business is based on rigorous analytic marketing and credit risk management. Core Business Leadership Strong business judgment, leadership, and integrity—capable of making tenacious decisions with an aggressive, yet responsible approach to business. Communication and Results Orientation Impeccable written and oral communication with strategic influencing skills, intellect, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities. Basic Qualifications At least 2 years of professional experience performing analysis. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, one of the following degrees: Bachelors or Masters in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems), or an MBA with a quantitative concentration. Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering. 1+ years of experience in statistical model building. 1+ years of experience in market research. 1+ years of experience in SQL querying. 2+ years of experience in business analysis. 1+ years of experience in consulting. Compensation Remote (Regardless of Location): $101,100 – $115,400 for Sr. Business Analyst. Other locations have associated pay ranges. This role is eligible to earn performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(s) and/or long‑term incentives (LTI).
