MECA Therapies, LLC is looking for a Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our professional team.

MECA Therapies is the largest pediatric rehabilitation provider in the state of New Mexico. Our mission is to strive every day towards ensuring that our families and their children have access to the highest quality of care in the communities we serve.

The Physical Therapist provides services to include evaluation and treatment to individuals of all ages based on diagnosed conditions. These services will be conducted within a variety of environments within home and community settings.

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:

PT:

• 
  Doctorate in Physical Therapy or other previously approved degree level.
• 
  Licensure from The NM Physical Therapy Licensing Board
  

PTA:

• Physical Therapy Assistant: Associates Degree
• Licensure from the NM Physical Therapy Licensing Board

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The PT will operate within Local, State and Federal Regulations as well as adhere to all MECA policies and procedures. Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:

1. 
   Administer standardized assessment tests within their professional scope of practice.
2. 
   Develop appropriate and thorough recommendations.
3. 
   Present diagnostic findings completely and accurately.
4. 
   Write evaluation reports with technical accuracy.
5. 
   Seek out appropriate information from medical and/or other resources as needed to implement treatment strategies.
6. 
   Develop theoretically sound plans describing objectives and procedures for treatment.
7. 
   Select appropriate stimulus materials and treatment modalities for age and ability of the client.
8. 
   Give clear concise instructions in presenting materials and/or techniques in therapy.
9. 
   Record and track daily progress accurately.
10. 
    Utilize time in session efficiently to meet objectives.
11. 
    Provide accurate and immediate feedback to the person served and/or family.
12. 
    Plan for discharge of the person served.
13. 
    Participate in the interview process for prospective employees as deemed necessary.
14. Attend TTCMs, IFSPs, Periodic Reviews, Annual Reviews and Transition meetings as required
15. Fulfill Team Lead duties for a select number of children on assigned caseload

CASELOAD ASSIGNMENTS

The PT will be assigned a weekly caseload from the respective program director for each program they serve by.

• Carrying a caseload of 30 clients per week, equating to 1392 direct therapy visits per year or part time equivalent.

• Adjustments to caseloads are made in collaboration with the respective program director(s)
• Adjustments to caseloads/clinic hours are made in collaboration with the respective program director(s);
  • Caseload adjustments in regard to clients and direct clients contact hours may be adjusted in accordance with the following:
    • Providing Supervision for students or other therapists
    • Completion of additional evaluations

PRODUCTIVITY

The PT will achieve the expected 90% productivity performance goal set by MECA Management.

• 
  Productivity will be directly tied to completion of notes, outreach activities, and other duties as assigned.

DOCUMENTATION

The PT will accurately collect data on persons served and will ensure that the information is accurate and filed in a timely manner by adhering to the following:

1. Document therapy sessions and progress
   1. FIT documentation to occur at the time of visit.
   2. Any therapist needing additional time beyond their regularly scheduled time must contact the Director for approval
2. Complete progress notes and submit them to the program director by the designated dates.
3. Documenting TTCM meetings
4. FIT evaluations will be completed within 3 business days. Any therapist needing additional time beyond their regularly scheduled time must contact the Director for approval.

STAFF DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING

The PT will provide the necessary support, training, and guidance in their provision of services to the persons served. The PT must also comply with all mandatory trainings identified by their licensing board as well trainings mandated by their respective supervisor(s) and/or company by adhering to the following:

1. Include the family in setting treatment goals and training families on specific treatment strategies and carryover skills for the client/patient
2. Consult and provide in-house trainings to other staff members
3. Maintain appropriate licensure through the NM licensing board
4. Attend mandatory staff meetings and trainings

SUPERVISION

Certified PTs with experience may be asked to provide supervision for Student Interns and PTAs. Supervision will be provided according to the supervision guidelines from the PT licensing board. Under no circumstances can a PTA participate in any supervisory role. No more than 3 full-time PTAs may be supervised at once.

The PT will maintain quality services for the persons served by adhering to the following:

1. 
   Ensure person served have a clear understanding of their rights
2. 
   Acknowledge and respect the rights of persons served at all times
3. 
   Ensure all therapy and related activities are ethical and in compliance with MECA policies and procedures
