This is a seasonal position, ideal for individuals with strong cattle-handling skills who are available during peak working periods. Responsibilities Help during works, including marking, branding, weaning, and shipping. Assist in daily cattle care including feeding, watering, and basic health checks. Upkeep ranch appearance by repairing farm buildings, fences, and other structures. Operate farm and heavy equipment such as tractors, skid loader, and trucks. Safely perform tasks assigned. Adhere to all industry, company and local ranch policies and procedures. Daily work may include independent tasks and collaborative teamwork. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Available to work on an as-needed basis. Safely and proficiently work cattle on horseback, while following company’s animal husbandry/welfare policies. Safely and efficiently gather cattle in pasture and works cattle in corrals/pens, adhering to low-stress principles. Have reliable transportation and own horse(s). Be punctual, respectful, and safety-conscious. Working conditions The physical demands below describe what is generally required to perform this job. Be able to see and hear well enough to monitor livestock condition, identify signs of illness or distress, and respond to safety warnings and environmental hazards. Assist with and/or perform routine animal husbandry procedures, following established protocols and training, which may include vaccinations, ear tagging, branding, dehorning, castration, blood sampling, and euthanasia.
