Accurate and timely proposals are essential for winning work. Basic Job Functions Adhere to Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s safety programs and standards. Progress through NRF Estimator Training Program. Be proficient with takeoff software and aSa estimating software. Review plans and assist in project assessment and bidding strategy with training and Estimating Lead guidance. Prepare timely estimates for bidding projects. Progress in knowledge to handle increasingly complex projects. Complete more complex projects with little supervision by end of period. Prioritize workload and communicate capacity to Estimating Lead. Track plan revisions/bid updates against previous work. Communicate effectively with sales teammates about estimating and bidding. Self‑review work for scope, completeness, and accuracy. Have working knowledge of the CRSI Manual, Rebar Anchorages and Splices, and Reinforcing Bars manuals. Perform other duties as requested by supervisor. Safety Safety is paramount. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum Requirements Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Ability to read and understand construction type drawings (structural, architectural, civil). Knowledge of concrete structures and CRSI/ACI standards. Proficient working knowledge of aSa estimating. Preferences Two‑year technical degree from an accredited school or college. Previous experience in reinforcing bar estimating. Three years of experience as a reinforcing bar or structural steel detailer or equivalent construction/field estimating experience. Working knowledge of plan takeoff software (Bluebeam, Construct Connect Takeoff, PlanSwift). What You Need to Know Extended hours may be required during peak production; work is often beyond normal weekday schedule. Occasional travel may be necessary. Must be able to work overtime when required. Walking, sitting, standing, bending. Using hands to operate objects, tools, computers, and other electronic equipment.
