Registered Nurse – Surge Unit (Nights) Come work at the best place to give and receive care! This role offers 12‑hour shifts, 36 hours weekly with every other weekend. $15,000 bonus eligible, paid in 3, 6, and 12 months. Nursing Student Loan Paydown Program up to $20,000. About the Unit The surge unit is a 14‑bed unit that specializes in providing inpatient level of care to patients awaiting inpatient bed placement. We specialize in cardiac/telemetry and medical/surgical patients. The unit is overseen by the CICU inpatient managers. This position is based in the CICU, primarily assigned to the Surge Unit, with the expectation that the RN will float to other areas as needed. Strong teamwork and communication skills are preferred as collaboration with the ER and inpatient units is expected. The surge RN has a 1:4 patient ratio and LNA 1:14. About the Job The surge nurse delivers care to patients and families with basic to complex needs utilizing the nursing process, creating a therapeutic and caring environment. The RN practices in a manner consistent with the Elliot Hospital Interprofessional Practice model, the ANA’s Social Policy Statement, Scope and Standards of Practice, the Nursing Code of Ethics, and relevant specialty standards of practice. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Current New Hampshire, Compact, or Multistate licensure as Registered Nurse required. Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain it during employment. ACLS preferred. Work Shift Night shift for the surge unit.
