Hourly Store Manager I FT 6826 Full Time 30-40 hrs South Portland Exchange, South Portland, ME, US Salary: $25+/hour DOE (depending on experience) DUTIES Management of a retail activity with annual sales of under $5M. Responsible for the direction and supervision of all store personnel. Assist customers and resolve complaints. Conduct interviews, hire, train, and direct training of assigned personnel. Encourage and develop employees by coaching, providing adequate training, and opportunities for growth. Assist in developing promotional sales in conjunction with CSC HQ staff. Oversee competitive price checks and submit to HQ buying staff to change pricing. Work with vendors and the HQ buying staff in executing operations of assigned departments or selections. Ensure store recovery. Supervise vending and warehouse operations. Welcome customers, maintain product knowledge, and help with the selection of merchandise. React to all concerns of customers quickly with a sense of importance. Key carrier, opening and closing of the store as required, weekends as scheduled. Review monthly P&L’s with goal of comparing actual figures to plan; when plan is not achieved, initiate plan of action to bring in line future months. Ensure all policies regarding Loss Prevention are adhered to, be alert and proactive regarding shrink and the Alert Line. Ensure all associates are in compliance with established safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements. Ensure all employees receive Coast Guard required training, including Civil Rights Awareness and Sexual Harassment Prevention. Ensure all CG and Federal required posters are prominently displayed in an area visible to all employees. Must have open availability. Perform other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED – MINIMUM Two years of progressively responsible experience equivalent to a department manager or assistant manager that demonstrates leadership, operational oversight, and customer service management OR completion of the CGX Leadership Development program (LDP) OR current USCG NAF employee with demonstrated experience performing key store operations (e.g., acting store manager, lead/supervisory responsibilities) Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time. QUALIFICATIONS – PREFERRED P&L analysis experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with emphasis in retail or business administration with at least two years of specialized experience. General business experience may be substituted for degree on a year for year basis. Current USCG NAF department manager or assistant manager WHY WORK FOR US?
