A fast-growing fintech company is looking for a Collections Specialist to join its Minneapolis office. This position is ideal for someone who has experience in consumer collections or financial services environments and enjoys working in a modern, technology-focused setting.The team is looking for someone who can communicate effectively with customers, make confident decisions, and operate successfully in a fast-paced environment while working both independently and cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Handle consumer collections activity and assist customers with payment resolutions
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding delinquent accounts, repayment options, and account status
• Review account details and make informed decisions based on company guidelines and customer situations
• Maintain accurate documentation within internal systems and CRM platforms
• Collaborate with operations, customer support, and leadership teams to improve customer outcomes and internal processes
• Utilize technology-driven tools, automation platforms, and reporting systems in daily workflows

Qualifications

• Previous experience in collections, recoveries, payment resolutions, or financial services operations
• Background within fintech, payments, lending, BNPL, banking, or related industries preferred
• Strong customer communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating across teams
• Comfortable in fast-paced, evolving environments
• Experience using CRM systems or customer support platforms such as Salesforce or Zendesk preferred
• Exposure to automation tools, analytics platforms, or AI-driven workflows is a plus

• Fintech or startup company experience
• Consumer lending or payments exposure
• Experience handling high-volume customer interactions while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail
