RN Medical Surgical Telemetry

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will provide skilled nursing care on a medical-surgical telemetry unit, performing patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality patient outcomes. This role requires strong communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on delivering compassionate care in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor telemetry data.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Provide patient and family education regarding care plans and health management.
• Document patient care activities accurately and timely.
• Respond to patient emergencies and provide critical care as needed.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Hawaii.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospital, home health, or hospice care.
• Clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical-surgical telemetry environment.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in medical-surgical telemetry units.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Additional certifications such as ACLS or telemetry monitoring.

Special Considerations:

• Shift work including day (7a-7p) and night (7p-7a) shifts based on unit needs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Scheduling:

• Rotating shifts including 12-hour day and night shifts.
• Shift assignments determined by unit staffing requirements.
