Van Driver

Position Summary:
The School Van Driver will provide safe and timely transportation of students to and from school and school related events. The School Van Driver must establish and maintain a positive rapport with students, follow departmental processes and procedures and exhibits a high degree of maturity and diplomacy in dealing with parents, and staff. The School Van Driver will complete incident reports, accident reports, attendance reports and support the mission of the department.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED certificate
• Minimum of three years driving experience.
• Must possess a valid Michigan Chauffeur license.
• Excellent driving record. Must meet local or state standards for driver record check.
• Experience dealing with student behavior
• Ability to handle stressful situations with empathy and professionalism

Essential Functions

• Drive a school van according to a designated route and schedule.
• Operate van in various traffic, weather and road conditions with the safety of students as a priority.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
