Job Title: IMC/Tele RN - Cardiac/Tele/Dialysis
Profession: Registered Nurse

Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in a busy hospital environment
License: Required
Certifications: ACLS, BLS
Must-Have: Experience with post-procedural cardiac patients and management of chest pain
Description:
The department cares for 29 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 during day shifts and 1:5-6 during night shifts.
Common diagnoses include cardiac medical and surgical cases such as post-catheterization, post-cardiac surgery, atrial fibrillation, chest pain, congestive heart failure, and arrhythmias.
Candidates must have experience with thromboelastography band compression devices.
Nurses are required to titrate drips; however, there are no vasopressors managed on the unit.
Common titratable and set rate drips include nitroglycerin, heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, lasix, bumetanide, and dobutamine.
There is a central telemetry unit that monitors non-critical care patients.
The charge nurse takes a modified assignment.
Nurse aides are available with ratios of 1:10 on day shifts and 1:10-12 on evening shifts.
Respiratory therapy support is available 24/7 and handles nebulizers, inhalers, and other respiratory aids.
Nurses are responsible for incentive spirometry and assisting with high-flow oxygen as needed.
Shifts are scheduled without self-scheduling, typically following unit needs.
Every other weekend and holiday shifts are required, with no standby requirement unless for an extra shift.
Floating to other units may occur based on census needs.
There is no specific scrub color required, and scrubs are not provided.
All staff must clock in and out at the facility.
This position is within an acute care setting.
The trauma level is categorized as Level 2.
