The Intern will support the Regulatory Affairs team in monitoring, analyzing, and responding to regulatory developments affecting the electric utility industry across state (Arizona Corporation Commission), regional (California Independent System Operatorand Southwestern Power Pool) and federal levels (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission). This role provides an excellent opportunity for a student to gain hands‑on experience in regulatory affairs, policy analysis, and compliance within the energy sector. Desire to learn about energy related issues and their corresponding policy challenges and solutions. Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on regulatory and policy issues impacting the electric utilityindustry. Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Monitor and analyze regulatory developments at the federal, state, and regional levels. Support the development and implementation of regulatory strategies and compliance initiatives. Participate in meetings with regulatory agencies, industry groups, and other stakeholders. Provide administrative support to the Regulatory Affairs team as needed. Education A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required. Additional Requirements and Qualifications Preferred majors include Public Policy, Political Science, Communications, English, or a related field. Must maintain eligibility by remaining enrolled, successfully completing at least six (100 level or above) credit hours per semester (or equivalent academic term), and providing enrollment and academic documentation as requested. Commit to working 15 to 40 hours per week based on business needs and manager discretion. Follow department-established work schedules and location requirements, including onsite, hybrid, or remote arrangements. Hybrid Workplace SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
