A vibrant community of individuals passionate about the work they do. Responsibilities Assist patients with daily activities as delegated by the rehabilitation team. Communicate patient concerns and changes in condition to rehabilitation nurses or therapists. Document appropriate patient information in their medical records. Obtain vital signs and record them in the electronic medical record. Perform special procedures including the collection of urine, stool, and sputum. Review treatments, ADLs, and hygiene with patients and families. Assist patients with feeding and attend Therapeutic Dining Group as indicated. Assist patients with body mechanics. Help maintain a clean and healthy environment for the patient. Assist with equipment care. Qualifications BLS (CPR) required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire. Part‑time or full‑time active student status. Successful completion of the first term of nursing courses in a professional Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse program. Currently enrolled and in good academic standing in such a program. Initial term, including didactic/skills lab, must include fundamentals of nursing or an equivalent course. Return of one or two instructor evaluations indicating satisfactory performance of fundamental nursing skills. Successful completion of preceptor tool and core competency at 90 days and annually. Proof of continued enrollment and passing grade in nursing classes each semester until graduation and remaining in good academic standing. One year experience in an inpatient clinical setting preferred.
