Swing Shift Diesel Mechanic

Job Description

Lewis County Hauling, a Waste Connections company, is looking to hire a Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Centralia, WA! 

This will be a swing shift, with the schedule being Monday-Friday, working 10-hour shifts (with one rotating day off).

Hourly Wage: $34-40 DOE

Safety Sensitive Position: Yes

Individuals with 3 to 5 + Years of Diesel Mechanic experience encouraged to apply!

​ RESPONSIBILITIES:

\n
• Repairs include but are not limited to routine maintenance and repairing engine, chassis, and body components, hydraulic cylinders, brake systems, suspension systems, cooling systems, wheels, and tires.
\n
• Inspects equipment and/or trucks for condition, operations, parts and fluid levels, differentials, final drives, pump drives, and hubs.
\n
• Knowledge of hydraulic repair is  REQUIRED .
\n
• Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
\n
• Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
\n
• Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
\n
• Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
\n
• Performs maintenance-related work as required.
\n
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
\n
• Performs required safety protocols while working on vehicles.
\n
• Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.
\n
• Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 50 pounds required.
\n
• Work environment may be indoors in a shop, or outdoors to repair trucks on the road. Usually, well-lighted and ventilated. Sometimes necessary to work in awkward or tight positions and to handle greasy or dirty tools. These factors require following basic safety precautions.
\n

  THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS :

\n
• Minimum of 3-5+ years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified above.
\n
• Must supply basic personal tools and toolbox
\n
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
\n
• Ability to work safely, follow procedures, communicate effectively, have a positive attitude with the desire to learn and grow in the role
\n
• Welding/fabrication experience is a huge plus!
\n
