Property Accountant - Affordable Housing

Overbrook Asset Management is building a growing affordable housing platform, and we're looking for a Property Accountant who wants to help build it with us.

Our portfolio includes Section 8 and LIHTC multifamily communities , where great accounting isn't simply a back-office function. It is an essential part of operating properties well, staying compliant, serving residents, and protecting the long-term performance of each asset.

We're looking for someone who knows property accounting, understands the pace and complexity of multifamily, and is genuinely comfortable inside RealPage and OneSite .

You'll work across multiple properties and alongside our accounting, property management, compliance, and asset management teams. You'll have the opportunity to see the entire operation—not just your piece of it.

What You'll Own

You'll take responsibility for the day-to-day AP and AR accounting across a portfolio of Section 8 and LIHTC properties , including:

• Managing the full AP workflow—from invoice receipt and coding through approvals and payment.
• Managing AR, including resident receipts, subsidy/HAP-related receivables, outstanding balances, and account research.
• Working extensively in RealPage / OneSite to maintain accurate property-level accounting records.
• Maintaining clean, accurate property ledgers across multiple entities and communities.
• Reconciling bank accounts, vendor statements, resident ledgers, and property accounts.
• Investigating discrepancies rather than simply passing them along.
• Partnering directly with property managers and internal teams to resolve accounting issues.
• Supporting month-end close and monthly property financial reporting.
• Helping improve accounting workflows, controls, and processes as our affordable housing portfolio grows.

Who We're Looking For

First and foremost, you need to know RealPage / OneSite.

We're not looking for someone who has seen the software once or whose company happened to use it. We're looking for someone who has actually worked in it and can comfortably navigate property-level accounting.

You should also have:

• Multifamily property accounting experience, particularly AP and AR.
• Experience with Section 8, PBRA, LIHTC, or other affordable housing programs strongly preferred.
• Experience working across multiple properties or entities.
• A strong understanding of vendor invoices, GL coding, resident receipts, reconciliations, and property-level accounting.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
• The instinct to investigate when something doesn't look right.
• The ability to move quickly without sacrificing accuracy.
