Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and pediatric ICU-level skills.

Details

• Pediatric Critical Care unit at a teaching hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• 36 or 48 hour contract options available
• Mandatory floating to other units, including as a Patient Observer (sitter), as Pediatrics staff may float anywhere in the organization
• Cerner charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RRT license in hand at time of consideration (no pending licenses accepted)
• License required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS, RRT
• Cerner charting experience required
• Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care to pediatric and neonatal patients in a critical care setting
• Perform ventilator management, airway management, and medication administration for pediatric patients
• Participate in care of patients with conditions such as RSV, ARDS, cystic fibrosis, and respiratory distress syndrome
• Facility operates 24/7, 365 days a year, with potential exposure to contagious illnesses
• Rotating shifts, holiday coverage, and work during inclement weather required
• Must work at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract
• On-call availability required
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Local candidates accepted, though those within 50 miles are not eligible and those 51-74 miles may be offered a local rate
• Maximum RTO of 10 days, with none allowed during the first week due to orientation
• Travelers may work up to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before a mandatory 6-month break is required before returning in an agency capacity
