Experienced CNC Machinist

A CNC Machinist, alsoknown as a CNC Setup Operator, works with computer-controlled machines likedrills, mills, lathes, and presses to manufacture parts. This role requires operatingCNC mills and lathes in a small batch repetitive manufacturing environment. Employeeswill be expected to operate a variety of makes and models of CNC mills andlathes.Machine operators are responsible for fit,finish, and cleaning of each part produced. Customer Relationship Personal Evolution Autonomy Administrative Work Technical Expertise Responsibilities Prepare CNC machines with the correctattachments and parts for each job. Enter instructions into the CNC equipment basedon blueprints and plans. Operate and monitor the machines to ensure theyare running correctly. Identify and resolve issues with machineprogramming or operation. Inspect finished product to ensure specifications are met Perform regular maintenance and inspections on equipment Follow all safety procedures and regulations Must Have Education: GED or High School Diploma. Certificatein machine shop technology or machine tool technology preferred Experience: 5-10years of experience on Mills or Lathes Skills: Stronganalytical, communication, and computer skills. Understanding of mathematics,particularly trigonometry, geometry, and algebra Read dimensions and tooling instructions fromwork orders and drawings Perform machine set-up by ensuring properprograms, tooling and offsets are used Load and unload raw material and parts, ensuringproper part alignment and positioning using part holding clamps, jaws, andchucks Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctionor out-of-tolerance operations and adjust machine controls as required Verify machine calibration and settings bymeasuring parts against drawings, using micrometers (ID and OD), dial calipers,and dial indicators Produce consistent, quality parts withintolerances of ± .0005" What\'s great in the job?
