Are you ready to start your career in business lending and treasury management? Addition Financial Credit Union is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Business Bankers. This role offers comprehensive training in sales, relationship management, business underwriting, treasury management, and operations. You will develop the skills to help businesses succeed by building strong relationships and offering tailored financial solutions. No prior experience as a Business Banker is requiredjust bring your banking knowledge, passion for sales, excitement for learning, and commitment to excellent service!
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with business members to understand their financial goals and challenges.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for business banking needs and inquiries.
- Manage an assigned portfolio of business members, ensuring their satisfaction and success.
- Learn to analyze financial statements and credit reports to assess creditworthiness.
- Assist in structuring loan proposals and collaborate with underwriting teams.
- Gain hands-on experience in loan origination.
- Develop a strong understanding of treasury management services, including cashflow optimization, payment solutions, and fraud prevention tools.
- Educate members on treasury management products and how they can support their business operations.
- Work with the treasury management team to onboard new members and implement treasury solutions tailored to their needs.
- Collaborate with members to identify opportunities for process improvement through treasury products and services.
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of business banking products, including loans, treasury, and deposit services.
- Educate members on available financial solutions and their benefits.
- Understand credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in risk assessment processes and maintain a focus on compliance.
- Identify potential business opportunities through networking and referrals.
- Learn to collaborate with various departments to enhance member experience and identify cross-selling opportunities.
- Provide outstanding service throughout the lending and treasury process, ensuring member satisfaction.
- Follow up with members post-loan and treasury solution implementation to build trust and encourage long-term relationships.
- Embrace training and development opportunities to continuously enhance your skills.
- Adapt to evolving job responsibilities to meet the needs of the credit union and its members.
Training and Development Program:
- Sales techniques and relationship management.
- Business credit underwriting and risk assessment.
- Treasury management, including cash flow analysis and operational efficiency.
- Operational processes and compliance standards.
- Product knowledge and solutions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field (preferred but not required).
Interpersonal and Communication Skills:
- Ability to build relationships and establish trust with clients and team members.
- Clear and professional communication, both verbal and written.
- Active listening skills to understand client needs and respond effectively.
Customer Service Orientation:
- Prior experience in a customer-facing role (e.g., retail, hospitality, customer support).
- Strong focus on delivering exceptional service and resolving issues.
Sales or Business Development Aptitude:
- Experience in sales, marketing, or relationship management roles.
- Understanding of how to identify and pursue opportunities to meet client needs.
Organizational and Time Management Skills:
- Experience managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Strong ability to prioritize responsibilities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
- Basic understanding of analyzing data, interpreting financial information, or solving practical problems.
- Familiarity with tools such as Excel or other software for organization and analysis.
Adaptability and Willingness to Learn:
- Demonstrated ability to learn new processes, systems, and concepts quickly.
- Open-minded approach to feedback and professional growth.
Team Collaboration Skills:
- Previous experience working in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to contribute to team goals while supporting individual objectives.
Financial or Business Knowledge:
- Familiarity with business financial concepts, such as budgeting, cash flow, or credit.
- Coursework or certifications in business, finance, or related fields are advantageous but not mandatory.
Technical Proficiency:
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Comfortable learning and using new technology, including customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
Professionalism and Work Ethic:
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and integrity in previous roles.
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in interactions with clients and colleagues.
