Clinical Laboratory Technician - Core Lab

Job Title: Laboratory Technician Location: Holyoke, MA Work Schedule: Sunday - Thursday, 10:00am – 6:30pm Job Responsibilities Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria. Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures. Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem‑solving. Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls. Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures. Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary. Assist with specimen processing when needed. Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology. Preferred Qualifications 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience. ASCP or AMT certification. Additional Job Standards Non‑traditional degrees with applicable science credits meeting CLIA standards may satisfy education requirements. Understanding of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures. Experience working in a high‑volume laboratory environment. Ability to work independently and within a team. Proficiency with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems. High level of attention to detail with strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position. Pass a standardized color blindness test. Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts as needed. Pay Range $27.00 – $41.00 per hour Benefits Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees scheduled for less than 20 hours, casual, intern, and temporary employees are only eligible for the 401(k) Plan.
