Respiratory Therapist

Respiratory therapist needed to provide oxygen therapy, ventilator management, and breathing treatments. Responsibilities include conducting bedside pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis. Care is provided for neonates, adults, and pediatrics in emergency, medical-surgical, intensive care, post-anesthesia care, ambulatory, and stepdown units. Experience in critical care and nursery is preferred. The role includes assisting with intubation and extubation, nasal and oral airway placement, and tracheostomy management. The therapist will also troubleshoot high-pressure alarms and assist in weaning from mechanical ventilation. Ability to provide heliox and nitric oxide therapies is beneficial. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Daily census is approximately 150 patients with various diagnoses related to respiratory diseases. Familiarity with special procedures such as bedside bronchoscopies and cough assist devices is a plus. Skills in managing equipment like Hamilton vents and high-flow nasal cannulas are required. Candidates should be prepared to work weekends and provide care for a diverse patient population.
