Travel RN - ICUAmerican TravelerTwin Falls, Idaho, United StatesPosition ID: P-741174Assignment type: travelShift: NightsLength (weeks): 13Openings: 2Start date: 2026-08-24T00:00:00.000Z$2,059.00/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an ICU/PCU combination unit requiring previous travel and EPIC experience, plus TTM/Zoll cooling skills.DetailsWork in a combined ICU/PCU unit within an acute care hospital settingTrauma Level 3 facilityUnit consists of 16 ICU beds and 14 PCU bedsICU nurse to patient ratio is 1:1-2, PCU ratio is 1:3Manage vented patients, post-PCI cardiac patients, Impella and IABP, stroke (TNK) patients, and Targeted Temperature Management (TTM) with Zoll cooling/thermoguardCare for vascular, trauma, EtOH, sepsis, overdose, some abdominal trauma/surgical, and CRRT patientsTravelers are not assigned CV surgical patientsTitrate standard ICU drips including vasoactive and sedative medicationsPCU role includes mild titrations with some pressors titrated within written parametersUses EPIC EMR systemNight shift schedule, 7p-7a, 12-hour shifts36 guaranteed hours per weekWeekend rotation typically every other weekend, subject to needHoliday coverage required as neededNo on-call or standby requirements, with possibility of extra shiftsFloat requirement between ICU and PCU patients within the unitCharge nurse role does not carry a patient assignment and supports both ICU and PCUCNAs on unit at 1:8 ratio supporting VS, foley care, bathing, IV pulls, bladder scans, and specimen collectionIn-house Hospitalist coverage 24/7 and Intensivist coverage 7 days a week, with eICU support overnightRespiratory Therapy in-house 24/7 managing vents, respiratory treatments, specimens, and bronchoscopiesTelemetry techs monitor strips on-site and at sister facilities, though RNs must be comfortable reading and interpreting telemetryNavy blue scrubs requiredRequirementsActive RN license, State or Compact, required in hand at time of submissionCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications requiredMinimum 2 years of ICU experience preferredPrevious travel nursing experience requiredEPIC EMR experience requiredExperience with Thermoguard/Zoll cooling for TTM requiredMust reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facilityDriver's license required for considerationTwo professional references required: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years worked, both including dates of employment and rehire eligibilityAdditional InformationProvide direct patient care across a combined ICU and PCU unit, floating between patient types as neededParticipate in a collaborative, team-oriented department with strong staff engagement with travelersFacility offers 2 days of unit/department-specific orientationScheduling support provided by a dedicated scheduling technician, with travelers expected to fill scheduling gaps and remain flexibleBlock scheduling may be considered if it aligns with unit needs, though no special scheduling requests are guaranteedPermanent employees of the facility must be separated from employment for at least one year before applying for a travel assignmentLocal candidates are not accepted for this position due to the radius requirementArea offers access to outdoor recreational activities
