Night Auditor

At Danville Hotel Collection, our Night Auditors are much more than overnight front desk associates—they are responsible for caring for our guests while ensuring the hotel is accurate, secure, and prepared for the next business day. This role combines genuine hospitality with attention to detail, independent decision-making, and nightly financial and operational responsibilities. Night Auditors serve as ambassadors for The Bee Hotel, The Holbrook Hotel, and The Laurel Hotel while providing exceptional overnight guest service. This is a hands-on position that requires professionalism, dependability, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently during the 11:00 PM-7:00 AM shift. Guest Experience Welcome every guest with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. Efficiently complete late-night guest check-ins and early-morning check-outs while maintaining accuracy. Assist guests with questions about the hotels, Danville attractions, restaurants, events, and local experiences. Respond promptly and professionally to overnight guest requests and concerns, escalating issues when appropriate. Anticipate guest needs and identify opportunities to create memorable experiences. Maintain a polished, organized, and inviting front desk environment throughout the overnight shift. Night Audit & Front Desk Operations Complete nightly audit procedures accurately and according to hotel standards. Review and reconcile guest accounts, payments, transactions, and daily financial activity. Verify room rates, taxes, payments, and folio accuracy before closing the business day. Review arrivals, departures, no-shows, cancellations, and reservation activity for accuracy. Process reservations, modifications, cancellations, and payments as needed. Complete required nightly reports and ensure they are accurate and distributed or filed appropriately. Identify and investigate discrepancies, reporting unresolved concerns to management. Maintain complete knowledge of room types, amenities, packages, promotions, and hotel policies. Respond to phone calls, emails, and guest requests promptly and professionally. Prepare the front desk and necessary reports or information for the incoming morning team. Clearly communicate important guest information, incidents, maintenance concerns, and operational updates during shift transition. Overnight Operations & Team Collaboration Serve as the primary on-site guest service contact during overnight hours. Work independently while using sound judgment and following established hotel policies and procedures. Assist with preparing the hotel for morning operations as assigned. Assist at any Danville Hotel Collection property when business needs require. Maintain clear communication with leadership and fellow team members. Participate in training and continuously develop hospitality, front desk, and night audit knowledge. Safety & Security Maintain awareness of hotel activity throughout the overnight shift and respond appropriately to unusual situations. Complete routine property walks as assigned. Follow all hotel safety, security, and emergency procedures. Protect guest privacy, confidential information, and hotel financial information. Report maintenance, cleanliness, safety, or security concerns immediately. Respond calmly and professionally to overnight emergencies or guest incidents and contact leadership or emergency services when appropriate. Ensure hotel entrances, common areas, and guest spaces remain secure during overnight hours. Qualifications Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred. Hotel front desk or night audit experience is a plus but not required. Strong attention to detail and comfort working with financial transactions and reports. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Professional appearance and positive, hospitable attitude. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Comfortable learning hotel technology and property management systems. Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions during overnight hours. Ability to multitask and remain calm during guest concerns or unexpected situations. Dependable, punctual, and able to consistently work the 11:00 PM-7:00 AM overnight shift , including weekends and holidays. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during an 8-hour shift. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, including carrying luggage or packages up stairwells. Ability to bend, reach, and perform routine front desk and property-check duties. Ability to remain alert and responsive throughout the overnight shift.
