Job Description and Duties

**Limited Term/12 months; may be extended up to 24 months or may become permanent**

Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).

Newly hired State employees may be placed at the minimum of the salary range. Every 12 months, based on performance evaluation, employee may receive a 5% salary increase until they reach the maximum salary for the position.

** Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) per month. Working Conditions

Folsom State Prison is located approximately 30 miles east of downtown Sacramento and just minutes from old town Folsom.

The grounds of the prison are surrounded by beautiful landscaping and friendly wild animals (deer, squirrels, turkeys, geese, etc.)

• The position(s) require(s) a(n) Certificate of Apprenticeship Completion Certificate. You will be required to provide a copy of your certificate prior to being hired.

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If it is determined that an applicant does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. Candidates new to CDCR/CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, as well as a Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
