Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a hospital team in Omaha, Nebraska. This position is primarily focused on Med-Surg, with an exciting opportunity for nurses who are interested in expanding their experience into the Emergency Department (ED). 

Cross-training into the ED is optional — if you are interested in gaining emergency-care experience, the facility is willing to provide the opportunity to cross-train. If you prefer to remain in Med-Surg, you can do so.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care to acute-care patients
• Assess patient conditions and monitor for changes
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Perform accurate and timely documentation
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge needs
• Respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Follow hospital policies, procedures, and infection-control standards
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients

Optional ED Cross-Training

Nurses who are interested may have the opportunity to cross-train from Med-Surg into the Emergency Department. This is completely optional and provides an opportunity to build additional acute-care and emergency nursing experience.

Requirements

• Current RN license eligible to practice in Nebraska
• Previous Med-Surg or acute-care nursing experience
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the healthcare team
• Current BLS certification
• Additional certifications may be required depending on cross-training into the ED
• Must meet all facility and compliance requirements prior to starting
