Title Peer Support Specialist Job Duties Peer Support Specialists are people in a peer‑designated role providing direct services with a personal experience of recovery from mental health, substance use, or trauma conditions who receive specialized training and supervision to guide and support others who are experiencing similar mental health, substance use, or trauma issues toward increased wellness. A Peer Support Specialist is an individual who has made a personal commitment to his or her own recovery, has maintained that recovery over a period of time, has taken the 80‑hour Peer Support Learning training (or equivalent) to work in mutuality with others, and is willing to share what he or she has learned about recovery in an inspirational way. Schedule Full‑Time: PM Qualifications Minimum of a high school diploma/GED. A mental health/SUD lived experience. 80‑hour Peer Support Learning or equivalent – successfully completed within 90 days of hire or has taken the training within 2 years of hire. Has current techniques of behavioral intervention training within six (6) months of hire. Located in the heart of the Tenderloin district, we are designed to address urgent needs in a densely urban setting.
