Electrical & Instrumentation TechnicianGeorgia-Pacific Cellulose LLC has an opportunity for a talented person to enhance operations at its cellulose facility in Brunswick, Georgia. The Electrical & Instrumentation Technician will create value by performing electrical maintenance and supporting the facility's startup and shutdown projects. This role is a part of a team that strives for safety and health excellence while achieving an injury free workplace.Compensation: $43.94 per hour.Shift: This position works a 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. schedule, with overtime as needed and the potential to transition to a rotating 12-hour shift schedule (including applicable shift differentials for 2nd and 3rd shifts). All shift maintenance employees are active members of the Mill Emergency Response Team (ERT), requiring ongoing training, participation in drills, and readiness to respond to on-site emergencies such as fire, medical, and environmental incidents to support the safety of employees and mill operations.The Georgia-Pacific Brunswick mill, which has been in operation since 1937, has the capability to produce over 800,000 tons of cellulose each year. Additionally, it is the largest single-site fluff production facility in the world.Responsibilities:Perform routine maintenance (Preventive Maintenance) on electrical and instrumentation equipment throughout the plantPerform emergency maintenance on failed equipment to ensure minimal production downtimeMaintain turbine generators and power distribution systems throughout the plantInstall equipmentMaintain and troubleshooting PLC's, process controls, electrical, instrument, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipmentAssist with the shutdown and startup of equipment on shutdown projectsFully comply with and ensure excellence in all areas of compliance, environmental and safetyPerform physical tasks while complying with safety requirements of the jobWork 12 hour rotating shifts including overtime, holidays, and weekendsQualifications:One or more of the following:Two (2) years or more of experience as a Journeyman Electrical and Instrumentation Technician in an industrial environmentA two (2) year degree or higher in Industrial Electrical Maintenance or Electrical Engineering and two (2) years of industrial electrical maintenance experienceThree (3) years or more of industrial electrical maintenance experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic equipment, circuits, components, pneumatics, and electrical issuesExperience reading and understanding electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatics schematics and/or technical drawingsKnowledge of electrical and other hazards and precautions including safety procedures, NFPA 70 arc flash electrical safety, and OSHA regulationsKnowledge/experience with plant floor automation and office Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNET, network wiring and Fiber Optic NetworksExperience diagnosing and repairing various electrical and electronic equipment ranging in voltages from 24VDC to 480 VDCExperience using both DC and AC motors, PLCs, Variable Frequency Drives, and Servo Controlled SystemsFive (5) years or more of experience as a Journeyman Electrical and Instrumentation Technician in an industrial environmentComputer skills for record-keeping and documentation functionsRockwell AC drive troubleshooting
