Surgical Technologist-POD 4

Position Surgical Technologist Schedule Monday - Friday, 10‑hour shifts 0630‑1700 Required to be on call 8 times during a six‑week schedule May be required to stay to finish cases and/or be called from home to staff urgent/emergent procedures Sign‑on bonus available Overview At Barnes‑Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center, the Perioperative Services team works in a fast‑paced environment that tests professional judgment and critical thinking. The surgical technologist will assist in outpatient and inpatient procedures, including general, plastics, ophthalmology, endocrine, and oncology, in a unit with 15 OR suites, 4 dedicated to ophthalmology. Roles and Responsibilities Prepares operating room for surgical patient, reviews preference cards, obtains necessary supplies and equipment, ensures cleanliness, and assists with opening sterile supplies. Performs surgical scrub duties and assists with collection, identification, and disposition of cultures and specimens. Assists in turning over of room and ensures supplies, instruments, and equipment are returned to proper location.
