Hospitality Associate, Patient Services

Job Description

The Hospitality Associate, Patient Services performs a wide variety of tasks and operations to support patients and staff by serving wholesome, attractive meals while maintaining strict sanitation requirements. Responsibilities and duties include coordinating and collaborating with hospital floor staff, ensuring patient information is correct, assembling trays on-time, delivering food trays to the correct patient, interacting with patients, following procedures for late trays, stocking refrigerators, preparing side dishes, receiving and storing orders, checking temperatures, understanding diets and allergies, disposing of waste, cleaning utensils and equipment, operating dish machines, cleaning dishwashing areas, labeling and dating inventory items, listening to customer concerns, reporting complements and complaints, and communicating effectively with staff and patients.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED preferred. Previous food service experience and/or training preferred.

Qualifications

Must be 16 years of age. Ability to perform on-the-job training required. Ability to do simple calculations and record keeping required. Ability to interact hospitably and respectfully with all ages and disabilities of hospitalized patients and assist with meal selection required. Ability to work with limited direct supervision from department leadership, remain on-task and work efficiently throughout the shift required. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and patients required.
