The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective, patient and family-centered care. Customer satisfaction and quality outcomes are priorities for the RN. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises both licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN applies the caring processes of a designated Model of Care. The RN has the responsibility to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care. Patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction are focal points for the RN. The RN utilizes educational and professional experience in delivering quality care. The RN also mentors and precepts staff members. Job Responsibilities: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care and reviews it as indicated. Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of patients and families. Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor/preceptor and encourages teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Implements practice changes and complies with regulatory standards. Participates in the designated governance model.
