Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) care in Madison, Wisconsin. This position involves working night shifts with a focus on adult populations in a Magnet certified hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center. The RN will provide critical patient care across multiple ICU specialties, including Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, Trauma ICU, and General Critical Care, with the opportunity to grow within a reputable academic environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, with every other weekend and some holidays.
  • Required Qualifications: WI RN license or compact RN license, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications, two years of recent acute care experience in the specialty, minimum of 5 years of total experience, very strong charting skills with Epic system experience, and ICU experience with adult populations. Must pass telemetry exam prior to start, with two attempts allowed.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with multiple ICU units such as Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, Trauma ICU, and IMC/Progressive/General care populations. Experience in trauma I units strongly preferred.
  • Additional Information: The RN must be competent in multiple ICU specialties, including managing complex procedures and equipment such as arterial lines, ECMO, ventilators, and intracranial pressure monitoring. Floating to Neuro ICU, CV/CT ICU, Burn, Trauma, MSICU, and IMC-Progressive units will be required as needed. The role supports a collaborative interdisciplinary team, with support from IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and others.
